Yashasvi Jaiswal Delighted to Secure MS Dhoni


Abu Dhabi: Rajasthan Royals chased down a mammoth 190 against Chennai Super Kings as youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dubey took home the 2008 champions with 15 balls to spare at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored his maiden IPL century in the first innings, but that still wasn’t enough for the 3-time champions to bring him to the finishing line. The 19-year-old Jaiswal scored his first 50 in the run chase and played a brilliant innings under pressure. Later it was a double delight for the youngster, when he got the signature of CSK captain MS Dhoni on his bat after the match.

In the post-match presentation, Yashasvi said that he took advantage of the loose deliveries to give his team a good start in the run chase. “I was thinking of looking at the wicket first, but we were chasing 190, I knew the wicket had to be good. I was just looking to capitalize on the loose balls and give my team a good start so that we are able to chase 190,” Jasiwal said.

The tournament’s leading run-scorer and player in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup scored 237 runs in 8 matches at an average of 29.62 in the IPL.

RR will take on MI in another crucial encounter at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
