RCB Release Wanindu Hasaranga And Dushmantha Chameera From Team Bio-Bubble

Dubai: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday released Sri Lankan all-rounders Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera from the team’s bio-bubble. Both Hasranga and Chameera are on their way to join their national squads ahead of their Round 1 matches in the men’s T20 World Cup starting October 17. This means Hasaranga and Chameera will not be available for selection in Monday’s Eliminator match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah. “Vanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera have been released from the RCB bio bubble as they join the SL squad for their #WT20 Qualifiers. Hasaranga and Chamira were included as replacement players for Australian pair of Adam Zampa and Daniel Sams ahead of the second half of IPL 2021. Hasranga took no wickets against his name in the two matches in the UAE and scored only one run with the bat. Chamira, on the other hand, did not participate in any of Bangalore’s matches in the league stage. On Sunday, Hasranga thanked the franchise for the IPL experience. “Here’s saying my heartfelt thanks and wishing my family/team mates at @royalchallengersbangalore all the best for the playoffs. Maybe this is the year we’ve won it all. The experience has been amazing in everything from the team to the management. We have a strong bond of brotherhood and friendship here. I am really grateful for this opportunity. Well go RCB,” Hasranga wrote on his Instagram account.

Hasaranga’s fellow leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in Bangalore commented on the post saying, ‘Good luck brotherman.’

Sri Lanka, the 2014 Men’s T20 World Cup champions, are part of Group A along with Namibia, Netherlands and Ireland in Round 1. He will start his campaign against Namibia in Abu Dhabi on 18 October.
