Kerala Issues Guidelines, Makes RT-PCR Test Report Mandatory For Devotees Visiting Sabarimala During Pilgrim Season

Kerala: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that initially 25,000 devotees will be allowed to attend the pilgrimage season at the popular Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala every day. The decision to allow the devotees to have darshan was taken at a review meeting, which was chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other state ministers of Devasam, Transport, Forest, Health, Water Resources and the state police chief.   • All devotees below 10 years or above 65 years of age can attend the darshan.
  • Devotees attending the pilgrimage season would have received two doses of the vaccine against the coronavirus disease. They should carry a negative RT-PCR test report.
  • No devotee will be allowed to stay at Sannidhanam after darshan.
  • Health care will be available round the clock during the festive season of Mandala-Makaravilakku.
  • Devotees, pilgrims are neither allowed to take the forest path through Erumeli nor the daily route to Sannidhanam via Pulamedu.
  • Vehicles are restricted till the remote Ghat area Nilakkal. One must use Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses to reach Pampa River. Bathing is allowed in the Pampa river area.
  • Adequate toilet arrangement should be provided at the KSRTC bus stop as directed by the Chief Minister of Kerala.
  • Installation of smoke detectors should be ensured in buildings where safe fire systems are not available.
  • According to the discussion in the meeting, the salary of the cleaning workers should be increased.
