The latest release from Amitabh Bachchan jhund got a lot of love. However, the biggest recognition for the Nagraj Manjule directed film came from the man whose life inspired the film – Vijay Barse. His review of the film was based only on the trailer. In an interview with ETimes, Vijay Barse said: “I was quite impressed when I saw the trailer. The emotions are captured so well. It was heartwarming to see some of my slum football students featured in the film. Also the narrow side streets of Nagpur are shown so beautifully. My journey, which was full of obstacles and challenges, will be shown on the big screen. I look forward to seeing the film.”

In the film, Amitabh Bachchan plays the lead role, who stars as a football coach for the underprivileged. The film is based on the life of NGO Slum Soccer founder Vijay Barse, who motivates children from slums to form a soccer team and coaches them.

jhund opened to great reviews. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 4.5 stars out of 5 in his review for Trendysmm, writing: “The powerful, pulsating and tactile three-hour film gives the genre’s established conventions a powerful jolt and transforms it into something remarkable. bigger than the game and the personalities it shows.”

Nagraj Manjule, who is best known for directing critically acclaimed Marathi films such as Pistulya, Fandry and Sairat makes his Bollywood debut as a director with jhundjhund is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Raaj Hiremath, Savita Raj Hiremath and Nagraj Manjule.
