Chennai Super Kings’ opener Devon Conway has made a name for himself with his outstanding performance for the New Zealand cricket team. Born in South Africa, Conway moved to New Zealand for cricket opportunities and has had great success to date. Thanks to his brilliant batting performance, Conway earned a contract from the Chennai Super Kings at the IPL 2022 auction.
Although Devon Conway failed to impress much at first, he has been given another chance to prove himself against the Sunrisers Hyderabad tonight. Conway had recently been in South Africa for a few days to get married. Since IPL 2022 has started and he was due to join Chennai Super Kings soon, Conway only had a short one day honeymoon.
Speaking to the presenters ahead of the match between the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Conway was asked about his honeymoon where he said:
“Unfortunately we only had one day of honeymoon, that was the day after the wedding and then I had to leave early the next day.”
She’s not with me now: Devon Conway says his wife didn’t go with him in CSK’s bio bubble
All 10 squads are in bio bubbles for IPL 2022. Most players have their relatives with them, but Conway’s wife has decided to stay in South Africa. Revealing whether she came to India with him, Conway added:
“Unfortunately she’s not with me now, she’s going to spend a few extra weeks in South Africa, just spend some time with family and friends and then head straight to New Zealand.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and chose to field first against Chennai Super Kings at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Devon has opened the innings for the Chennai Super Kings along with IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad.
