Rohit Sharma, captain of the eIndian T20I cricket team, is 54 runs away from an important milestone in his overall T20 career. If the Hitman scores 54 runs for the Mumbai Indians in their IPL 2022 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, he will join Royal Challengers Bangalore batter, Virat Kohli, in an elite club of Indian batters with 10,000 T20 runs.
Kohli is currently the highest go-getter of all Indians who has played the shortest form of the game. The Royal Challengers Bangalore star has amassed 10,326 runs in 311 T20 innings averaging 41.13. He has recorded five hundreds and 76 fifties in T20 cricket.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is right behind Virat Kohli, with 9,946 runs in 359 T20 innings with a strike rate of 133.77. Sharma has wrecked six centuries and 69 half-centuries in his T20 career.
Currently, the Mumbai Indians are at the bottom of the table along with defending champions CSK after their defeat to Rajasthan Royals.
We are here to correct our mistakes what happened in the last game: Rohit Sharma
Speaking to Murali Kartik during the match between the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals, Rohit Sharma was quoted as saying:
“We are here to correct our mistakes what happened in the last game. Every game gives us the chance to do that. We are a young team, learning every game is something we look forward to every time. We play against same squad.”
Fans expected Suryakumar Yadav to be available for this match. However, the right-handed batter is not part of the playing XI. It appears that the Mumbai Indians team management does not want to risk him as there are many more matches to go in the tournament.
