The 50th match of IPL 2022 is underway at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium, where David Warner destroyed Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling attack while playing for the Delhi Capitals. Warner opened the innings for DC after SRH won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bhuvneshwar Kumar started with a wicket-maiden and sent Mandeep Singh in the first over.
However, Warner held on to one side and didn’t hold out until the end. He scored 92 runs off 58 balls and hit 12 fours and three sixes. He came up just eight runs short of his first century in IPL 2022.
Warner could have completed his century if Rovman Powell had handed him the trick in the last over, but Powell played all six balls bowled by Umran Malik and helped DC finish with a total of 207 runs. After the first innings, Powell told the host broadcasters:
“I got through so many balls that I got excited towards the end. I asked him if he wanted a single to get to a hundred, but he told me this is not how we play cricket and I should try to make it as far as I can and hit as hard as I can and I did it.”
Twitterati react to David Warner’s unique shot against Bhuvneshwar Kumar
On the first pitch of the 19th over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar threw a wide yorker. David Warner tried to play a switch-hit, but he improvised and hit the ball towards the good-legged fielder, who would have been third man to the righthanded batter.
The ball struck the fielder and crossed the boundary line when Warner scored four runs for his team. Rovman Powell’s explosive finish saw DC finish with 207/3 in 20 overs, even though the first over of the innings was a wicket maiden.
In this article, we’ll now look at the key Twitter reactions to Warner’s unique inclusion:

Three limits left in the 19th – including what was a right-handed dab to third, as Warner turned to switch tricks – and he’s at 92 of 58. Is he up for a 100 against his former team? These two have also held out for a century, with DC approaching 200.

This reminds me that David Warner’s switch hit vs Ashwin in T20I 2012 is the best switch hit of all time.

Started out as a left-hander.
Switched to right-handed looking for a hit over cow corner.
It eventually slid to the third man.
David Warner finds some fantastic gear against Sunrisers Hyderabad. #DCvSRH
