The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League started on March 26 and the 48th match of the season is currently underway in Maharashtra. Table top Gujarat Titans take on the Punjab Kings tonight. GT captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bat first. Arshdeep Singh cast a beautiful spell for the Punjab Kings.

Speaking of the first innings of the game, Wriddhiman Saha led off the innings along with Shubman Gill. The two openers looked good, but they couldn’t strike a great partnership for the first wicket. Gill was sadly exhausted thanks to a brilliant direct hit, while Saha handed a flyout to Mayank Agarwal at Kagiso Rabada’s bowling after scoring 21 points.

Sai Sudharsan was the savior of the Gujarat Titans. He didn’t stay out with 65 runs off 50 balls, five fours and a six. His first IPL of half a century helped GT finish with 143 runs on the board. Sai said after the first innings with the presenters:

“Played well, but it wasn’t the best. Played too many point balls. It was a bit gripping for the spinners and upon death Arshdeep nailed down his yorkers so it was hard to get them off. Seems like a nice total to me. 160-165 would be par, so we’re a little short.”

Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah are the only members of an elite club in IPL 2022

40 Bowlers threw more than 20 overs in 2022 IPL

Among them, only 2 of them received 5 sixes (least)

Jasper Bumrah – 5 6s (206 balls)
Arshdeep Singh – 5 6s (203 balls)*#GTvsPBKS

As mentioned earlier, Punjab Kings uncapped fast bowler Arshdeep Singh was in good contact with the Gujarat Titans. He continued his top form, casting a 1/36 spell in four overs. Singh has bowled over 20 overs so far in the 2022 IPL season.

There have been 40 bowlers who have delivered more than 20 overs this season, and the only two bowlers to concede under five sixes are Mumbai Indians’ Jasprit Bumrah and PBKS’s Arshdeep.
