The 43rd match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, where the Royal Challengers Bangalore will face the Gujarat Titans. It is the first-ever game between these two franchises and Virat Kohli played an impressive 58-run innings.
After some failures in recent matches, Kohli took time to settle in the middle, scoring 58 runs off 53 balls against the Gujarat Titans. It is Kohli’s 10th game in IPL 2022, but the righthanded batter hadn’t made it to 50 this season prior to these innings. In two games, he got out on the first ball.
He made sure to play cautiously in the first overs and concentrated on building a partnership with Rajat Patidar in the game against the Gujarat Titans. Virat avoided taking the air route against GT, scoring just one six in his 58-run inning.
Shortly after completing his first half-century in IPL 2022, the opposition team, Gujarat, wrote on their official Twitter handle:
“50 for Virat Kohli! If you are a cricket fan you will love this – whatever team you support.”

Virat Kohli is a great player: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly
Ahead of the match between the Gujarat Titans and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly gave his thoughts on the disappointing batting performance of Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma and RCB star Virat Kohli. Here’s what Ganguly had said in an interview with News18:
“They are great players and I’m sure they will get back in shape. I hope they start scoring points soon. I don’t know what’s going on in Virat Kohli’s head, but I’m sure he will regain his form and will make some good runs. He’s a great player.”
Kohli has scored points and fans will hope he will score them faster in the coming matches.
