Jasprit Bumrah was not at his best in the ongoing IPL. Against Kolkata Knight Riders, however, the Mumbai Indians speedster was on top form. He took five wickets and single-handedly delivered the bright start that KKR had. In this article, we look at how Sanjana Ganesan reacted to Jasprit Bumrah’s sensational five-wicket-haul against KKR.

Jasprit Bumrah’s sensational five-wicket-haul against KKR

KKR actually had a great start after losing the toss. They reached their first fifty opening partnership of the season with Venkatesh Iyer making a quickfire 43. After losing his wicket, Nitish Rana continued his fine form by scoring 43 runs from 26 deliveries. The squad was in a good position to make a good score and Andre Russell then came into the picture. He got a huge six quite early in the innings and the Mumbai Indians were under pressure.

However, as if it were a sign, Rohit Sharma got Jasprit Bumrah to tackle Andre Russell and almost immediately the move paid off. Bumrah got Russell’s wicket and he didn’t stop there, he also took the scalps of Nitish Rana, Sheldon Jackson, Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine. Bumrah’s spell was full of energy and all his wickets came from shorter deliveries. It was a brilliant show from the pacer and as expected there was a lot of praise for him. KKR, which had been at 123-3 at one point, had to settle for a score of 165-9. Bumrah finished with the numbers of 4-1-10-5, his best in the tournament.
