The 54th match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway in Mumbai where the Royal Challengers Bangalore will play against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Dinesh Karthik stole the show in the last two overs of the RCB innings as he scored 30 runs off just eight balls. His spectacular finish helped RCB finish with 192/3 in 20 overs.

When Dinesh Karthik came to bat, the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s score was 159/3 after 18.2 overs. Not many expected RCB to finish with a score of 190+, but Karthik hit 30 runs from just eight balls, including four sixes and a four to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore set a 193 run target for their opponents.

Commenting on Dinesh Karthik’s incredible cameo, former England cricket team captain Michael Vaughan wrote on Twitter:

“DK should be in the Indian T20 World Cup team..#IPL2022.”

It’s a plus for us and Dinesh Karthik plays the part so well: Rajat Patidar

After the first innings, Rajat Patidar, who had a brilliant partnership of 105 runs for the second wicket with captain Faf du Plessis, spoke to the host broadcasters, praising Karthik’s finish. This is what he was quoted by Sportskeeda:

“It’s great to finish the game like this every time. It’s a plus for us and he plays the part so well, it’s a joy to watch. The ball grabs a little bit.”

Patidar gave his take on the pitch at Wankhede Stadium for the match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad, adding:

“If you look at the wicket, it’s not going to be easy chasing 193. It’s two speeds and it just gets slower. There was no pressure.”

It will be interesting to see if the Royal Challengers Bangalore can defend the 193-run target against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mumbai.
