“Cricket is very unpredictable” – Rahul Chahar talks about playing for India in T20 World Cup –

Rahul Chahar has been one of the most impressive young players in the past few IPL seasons. Chahar donned the jersey of the Mumbai Indians, regularly scalped wickets and played a pivotal role in MI’s success. Thanks to his incredible performance, Chahar earned a place in the Indian squad for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup.

However, the right-arm leg spinner didn’t get enough chances to play in his first-ever ICC T20 World Cup. The team management preferred the duo Varun Chakravarthy and Ravichandran Ashwin for him. Chahar was only allowed to play one game against Namibia, where he returned with figures of 0/30.

Chahar has not played a single match for the Indian cricket team since the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. The leg spinner is aiming for a comeback. In an interview with Sportskeeda, Chahar was asked if he is thinking about the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup which will take place in Australia later this year.

“Personally, I don’t think too far. My job is to focus on the matches and I believe that cricket is very unpredictable. I don’t look into the future. My focus is to do well for Punjab, and that’s all I’m thinking about,” replied the leg spinner.

Rahul Chahar will play for the Punjab Kings under the captaincy of Mayank Agarwal in IPL 2022

The Mumbai Indians failed to retain Rahul Chahar ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. The leg spinner was part of the auction pool this year, where the Punjab Kings signed him.

Chahar will don the Kings jersey for the first time in his IPL career. It will be interesting to see how the leg spinner performs for its new franchise. PBKS will play their first game of the season against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday evening. Chahar is likely to be part of PBKS’ first playing XI.
